When Dane Swan cleaned out his locker at the Holden Centre on Tuesday, he left behind a pair of his precious football boots.
Collingwood Media got its hands on the boots, worn and signed by Swan before a foot injury ended his 258-game AFL career.
Five clues led Collingwood supporters to number 36, Swan Street in Melbourne - home of the Holliava Bar.
First to the post was Tom, who solved the riddle and waited at Holliava for over an hour before winning the boots.
A diehard Pie himself, Tom's doing the unthinkable - giving the boots away.
"I’ll be giving them to my sister for her 30th birthday," he said on Thursday afternoon.
"She’s probably crazier than me for Collingwood so I’ll give them to her."
And while life without Swanny is set to be tough, Tom has confidence in what's ahead.
"It’s sad but there’s no point playing on if he’s not up to it," he said.
"We’ve got a good enough team to take us into the future."
