The AFL has confirmed that Friday night's NAB Cup Grand Final, to be played between Collingwood and Essendon, will be held at Etihad Stadium and not the MCG.
In a statement issued on Monday morning, the AFL said it "examined the options for playing the game at the MCG but it was determined the match could not be moved in the timeframe available".
The statement went onto say "to ensure all patrons have access to seating on the night, the game has been upgraded to a ‘designated seat match.’ Patrons are encouraged to reserve a seat via Ticketmaster prior to attending the match.
"Tickets went on sale via Ticketmaster at 10.30am this morning, through Ticketmaster on 1300 136 122, online at ticketmaster.com.au or via any Ticketmaster outlet."
The match will commence at 7:45pm and will be televised on Channel 7. TV and radio broadcast details will be published on collingwoodfc.com.au when they become available.
