We all know we don’t talk flags in March.
But they call the third quarter the premiership quarter.
And during the 2016 NAB Challenge, it was Collingwood who owned the third term.
No club came close to scoring at the rate of the men in Black and White, who finished 47 points ahead of the next best placed third quarter team, Adelaide, who kicked 15.7 (103) across three games.
In fact, the Crows were the only team to outscore the Magpies during the entire competition.
They kicked 5.40.39 (324) to Collingwood’s 1.48.26 (323).
On that basis, circle Saturday 16 July on your calendars. Our round 17 meeting with the Pride of South Australia looms as the highest scoring of the season.
But it’s only March. Let’s take things a week at a time…
