Collingwood are back on the winners list defeating Darebin Falcons 8.7 (55) to 3.3 (21).
After a much needed win, the Pies are now sitting just outside the top six.
It was an impressive start to the match, with Monique DeMatteo and Sarah King getting the first two goals in the first five minutes.
With seven individual goal scorers, it was a team effort getting over the line.
Zander was busy up forward, scoring two goals with an equally good celebration.
Marla Neal was impressive, with 16 disposals, 11 contested possessions and 6 inside 50’s. Neal was able to provide pressure throughout the ground with her outstanding work rate all day.
Elizabeth Jackson has returned from injury strong, racking up 25 disposals, having a big impact across the wing.
Chloe McMillian was happy with the result and the effort the team showed.
“We were able to get territory from stoppages, which is something we haven’t been able to do”, McMillian said.
“When we got it in deep, our forwards looked really dangerous, competed well one on one and were able to make the most of our opportunities”.
“We knew there was a lot on the line this game and we made a big emphasis on that and really wanted to go back to how we know we can play and what we can do, and I thought we did that pretty well today consistently”.
Collingwood will take on Casey Demons this Sunday 8 May, 10am at Casey Fields.
