Daicos on his first weeks at AFL level

"I'm slowly adjusting to the speed, it's a big step up," Nick said.

"I'm finding my feet but it helps when you have great coaches and teammates to help you find your way.

"I've walked into the club with many other recruits and we've all been treated the same - we've all had to work for our spot and there's others who are banging down the door for selection.

"I just feel like another player on the list and part of a young, exciting group."

On wearing the #35 guernsey

"It is a huge honour to wear the number dad and Presti both wore - the legacy Presti left at the club was amazing."

"We'll see what happens with the number in the next couple of years but I'm just trying to play good footy at the moment.

"Dad is one of my major supporters and he is very light hearted.

"Footy is obviously something we take very seriously but we also have a lot of fun with it, we have a lot of laughs.

On round four

"We are a process driven team, not outcome driven," Nick said.

"We would have loved to take the four points but we analysed last week's game on Monday and now we move forward and apply those learnings.

"I'd love to play midfield (this week) but we have numerous players who could fill the void (with De Goey and Adams sidelined).

"Hopefully I get a few minutes but we'll see how it unfolds."

Fly on Nick

"The way he conducts himself is so impressive... he's such a mature head and he's playing above his age level."

"We're rapt with the way he's going about it."

On this week's re-signings

"We can't help but be excited about what's going on behind the scenes."

"It is nice to get some affirmation the players want to play for us.

"Darcy (Moore) is one of many that has said they want to be with us longer term.

"He's one of the important players in our jigsaw puzzle going forward - we're trying to win now and win in the future and he's a big part of that.

"There's no doubt he's a potential future captain - he's the vice for a reason and he has those leadership qualities."

On round four midfield mix

"Tay (Adams) is out with covid protocols, he was starting to feel a little unwell after the game last week."

"We have some decisions to make - Jordy and Tay are some big outs for us.

"We don't have players of that calibre in the background waiting to come back in but we do have guys ready to play roles, a number of VFL guys are playing really well and some other players are waiting to have some more time in the midfield."
