Co-captain Bri Davey believes Collingwood can still push deep into finals if her side can ignore external pressure and hold onto sixth spot.
"In the build up to this season there was a lot of external noise and we try to squash that internally," Davey said on The W Show this week.
"Things like, 'Pies are the favourites' - I think sometimes when that's put on a team it can build some pressure."
Collingwood face the Western Bulldogs at home in a must-win clash on Sunday, travel to Adelaide's fortress at Norwood Oval the following week and meet Richmond at Vic Park in round 10.
The Pies are only half a win ahead of the Bulldogs, making Sunday's match a classic eight-point game.

"We need to just stick to the process - not that we haven't been doing that - but our focus will just be on executing the basics," Davey said.
"At the end of the day the team who is getting the basics right usually wins the game of footy.
"The pressure is building towards finals but we'll be alright, we will stick together and put our heads down."
