After successive losses, a 24-point win over West Coast on Sunday was a welcome return to form as we edge closer to finals.

"We started showing signs of returning to the brand of footy we know we can play and enjoy playing," Steve Symonds said post-match.

"(In our last two games) we haven't had enough drive going into our forward 50 and we haven't been able to move the ball freely.

"Today we took our time a little more, we were patient and got the ball into better spots.

"We had more composure today and we've been working on that for the past couple of weeks."

Symonds said the away trip was an opportunity for the group to reset.

"We don't get to spend much time together during the season outside of games and training," he said.

"Coming over here for a couple of days was a chance to galvanise and bond a little more.

"Today they looked like a tight-knit group again."

Collingwood kicked four straight goals before three-quarter time in our most impressive attacking game of the season.

"When you get the scoreboard ticking over you see reward for your effort," Symonds said.

"Today we had a chance to feel good about ourselves for a while."
