A month out from round one, Collingwood's AFLW side had its first intra-club practice match at Olympic Park Oval on Saturday morning.
Head Coach Steve Symonds said he was pleased with his squad's performance and impressed by both younger and more established players alike.
"Even though we were playing internally we replicated playing opposition as much as we could," Symonds said after the match.
"I was really pleased, compared to last year's intra-club match I thought today we were a lot cleaner, our skills look like they have gone up a notch.
"I'm looking forward to playing against Melbourne next week when we can really go body against body and get some contested stuff going.
"Everyone had their moments today and some of our young ones were impressive - Eloise Chaston showed something playing though the midfield and up forward and Eliza James got a couple of goals early which was good for her confidence.
"Bella Smith looked good as a key target and Sabrina Frederick showed in the first half that she is going to be a really positive acquisition for us."
The first quarter saw Aishling Sheridan and Frederick kick early goals, with Britt Bonnici and Jaimee Lambert dominating out of the middle.
James snagged a roving goal from the pocket while the ever-consistent Bonnici kicked an elite goal from a stoppage 30m out on the boundary.
After the first break James took a strong contested mark 20m out directly in front and slotted her second.
A roving goal from Lambert followed, while Frederick kicked a 40m set shot for her second.
Chloe Molloy clocked up midfield minutes and tore it apart, creating clearances and clean by hand and foot, while Moloney was a rock in defence.
Frederick and Bonnici kicked three goals apiece, while Chaston showed promise with a roving goal from the square.
Steph Chiocci did it all herself when she slotted a running goal from 35m, while Imogen Barnett - who was lively all day in the forward line - landed a free kick from a push to slot her first.
