In a breakout win Jack Crisp has tonight been awarded his first E.W. Copeland Trophy.

Crisp finished the night on 90 votes, polling in 17 matches across the home and away season.

The E.W. Copeland Trophy was one of two best and fairest awards celebrated with the Joseph Wren Trophy awarded to Lachie Tardrew as the club’s best performer in the VFL.

Crisp was in the top 10 percentile for average disposals (27) and contested possessions (9.1) in the league for the 2021 season.

The 27-year-old has played 163 consecutive games, the most for any active player in the AFL, and has now finished top three in Collingwood’s best and fairest on four occasions.

Known for his one percenters, Collingwood defender Brayden Maynard finished a career-high second place in the Copeland count (70 votes).

Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury finished a close third (67 votes) despite missing the final four rounds due to a leg fracture. Pendlebury has now finished in the top three of the Copeland in the last 13 of his 16 seasons in the black and white.

Rounding out the top five were forwards Jordan De Goey (66 votes) and Steele Sidebottom (59 votes).

Darcy Moore, who finished in seventh place, was on track for a stellar campaign polling in nine out of 13 games before injuring his right knee in the final minutes of Collingwood’s Round 13 match against Melbourne at the SCG.

Brody Mihocek booted 34 goals to claim the Gordon Coventry award as leading goal-kicker, the third year in a row.

Jordan Roughead received the Darren Millane Memorial Trophy for best clubman while Steele Sidebottom claimed the Gavin Brown award for his at ball pressure.

2020 draftee Oliver Henry was awarded the Harry Collier Trophy as the club’s best first year player. Henry averaged 9.1 disposals and kicked seven goals across 10 games this year.

Tom Wilson received the Jack Hellier award for best VFL clubman. The 24-year-old averaged 23 possessions and kicked two goals across eight appearances.
