Here's all the information you need ahead of Collingwood's semi-final against Essendon at Victoria Park this Saturday afternoon.
Pies' season so far
Collingwood will arrive on Saturday fresh off its first finals win for the year with a qualifying final victory over Geelong at Victoria Park.
It was a nail-biting final three minutes of the match with just a six-point margin, but despite a scoreless final term from the Pies, they managed to hold on and claim the win to remain undefeated.
In their third finals series, the Pies got off to a slow start but managed to hold on to walk away six-point victors against the Cats.
Last time we met
The Pies and Dons last met back in round eight for the inaugural ANZAC Day clash where the Pies claimed a 10-point victory.
Despite managing to walk away with the win, the Bombers had the two-point lead at the major break. But the Pies were able to gain control over the game in the second half taking a five-point lead at three-quarter time.
How have the Bombers been tracking?
Finishing the season in fifth position on the ladder, the Bombers have nine wins and six losses to its name.
Taking part in their first finals series, they upset their higher racked opponents being Casey by three-points in last weekend’s qualifying final.
Despite a four-point deficit at the final break, the Bombers fought back with two goals to claim the win.
What the semi-final means?
A win on Saturday would see the Pies progress through to the Grand Final on July 25 at ETU Stadium, while a loss would mean they’d have one final chance in a preliminary final against the winner of the Southern Saints and Geelong.
Crowds are permitted at the second week of the VFLW finals but must adhere to the current government protocols to keep players, staff, officials and fellow fans safe.
The game will kick off at 12pm. Tune into the livestream via the VFL’s Youtube page and updates will be available on Collingwood’s AFLW social media channels.
