Collingwood has today strengthened its hand in the 2021 AFL Women’s draft with the approval of a trade involving two pick swaps.

Collingwood have come to a deal with Carlton that saw Collingwood obtain picks 29 and 32, in exchange for picks 26 and 55.

Today’s trades see Collingwood secure two picks in the second round of the 2021 AFLW national draft, enabling the club to access a greater range of talent.

Collingwood now have picks 29, 32 and 33.

Collingwood’s AFLW list manager, Jess Burger, said the outcome benefited the club’s strategy moving forward with greater access to the top level talent across the state.

“With today’s trade, we have now firmed up our position in the draft with all 2021 draft picks within the second round,” Burger said.

“Our draft hand we have gained through this pick swap allows us to select from the top 25 Victorian talent available, placing the club in a strong position of success in the upcoming 2021 AFLW national draft.”
