As part of the club’s commitment to public accountability and promise to Do Better we will be publishing regular updates on our progress against the Do Better Report recommendations. The First Quarter Report outlines our progress against the Reports implementation timeframe.
Last night was our first opportunity to present to members our progress to date and will continue to do so: providing the membership an exclusive information forums every three months.
As explained by the Report authors, ‘systemic racism doesn’t mean that everyone is racist, as some have tried to say. What is means is that the culture, structures and internal mechanisms aren’t effective in facing racism, providing resolution and creating change. It means individuals of goodwill can’t make the difference they want.
At the club we will continue to work on ways to learn, act and impact as we progress our Do Better work program. This will be shared with our members along the way.
