Pies footy manager Geoff Walsh has confirmed that veteran midfielder Daniel Wells will return through Collingwood’s VFL team in the round two clash with Footscray on Friday afternoon.
“(It’s) really pleasing that Daniel Wells will step out with our VFL team this week. You’ll all remember that Daniel had that Linsfranc injury to his foot suffered in the Queen’s Birthday game last year,” Walsh said on the round four episode of Injury Update.
In his weekly press conference, Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley confirmed Wells is scheduled to play three quarters.
The Pies' VFL team will have two fresh faces pull on the black and white on Friday.
“Mark Keane and Anton Tohill, our two Irish boys who missed last week with minor injuries, both will play in the VFL this week,” said Walsh.
In exciting news, Will Hoskin-Elliott has returned to full training for the first time since undergoing knee surgery last year.
“He’s (Will) progressing really well. It’s probably two weeks of full training and then we’ll see how he is from there,” said Walsh.
