Young defender Tom Langdon has undergone minor knee surgery ahead of the Christmas break.

He is expected to be running again shortly after the players return from their break on 4 January.

“Tommy had been a little bit sore. We thought he would be OK but then he went to see the surgeon and they had a look at him and had to clean up his meniscus,” Director of Football Neil Balme told Collingwood Media.

“They’re very pleased with it. It’s cleaned up very well and we’re confident that he will be starting to run just after Christmas.

“It shouldn’t hold him up too much, he’s quite positive.”

Elsewhere, captain Scott Pendlebury was left applying an icepack after he received a knock to his lower leg.
