Collingwood vice-captain Steele Sidebottom will race against the clock to be right for round one against the Western Bulldogs after injuring his calf on Friday night.

The star midfielder left the AAMI Community Series match against Richmond with a tight calf during the first quarter and sat out the rest of the game.

Scans on Saturday have revealed a very small nick in his calf and remains a 50/50 chance to face the Dogs on 19 March.
