Collingwood has made four confirmed changes as it seeks the right combination to defeat Geelong on Sunday.
Travis Varcoe has been recalled to the senior team after one match in the reserves. Varcoe booted two goals in a typically energetic display against Sandringham.
Ruckman Max Lynch hasn’t recovered from a concussion he sustained last week. Hard-running midfielders Sean Hetherington and Callan Wellings are the other two players to miss out.
The Collingwood inclusions are headlined by Rupert Wills and James Aish, both of whom are named on an extended interchange.
There is a potential Collingwood debutant in tall defender Sam Glover. Glover joined the club from West Preston-Lakeside in the off-season, having previously spent time on Northern’s VFL list.
Andrew Gallucci is among the potential inclusions, in what would be his first game of the VFL season. The livewire small forward starred last season against the Cats, booting four goals in the Pies’ four-point win.
A couple of long-time Pies VFL players in Elliot Le Grice and Lachlan Howe are also in line for their first game of the season.
