Like many things in 2020, the 2020 E.W. Copeland Trophy will look a little different this year.

The club’s best and fairest award will be presented this Tuesday night in the Queensland hub. Tune in live on Collingwood's Facebook page and website from 7.30pm AEDT. 

Here are some of the leading contenders up for the award (in alphabetical order):

Taylor Adams
As one of the Magpies’ most consistent performers, Adams took his game to another level in 2020. The tough on-baller made an appearance in every game this season collecting a total of 389 disposals and 220 kicks. His impressive efforts throughout the 2020 season saw him rewarded with his first All-Australian selection.

Jack Crisp
The defender has been one of the Pies most consistent performers this season. Having played a key role down back this season, the 27-year-old recorded a total of 350 disposals and 209 kicks. He finished in third spot for the Copeland Trophy last year.

Josh Daicos
The 21-year-old has been simply creative this season collecting 302 disposals and booting 10 goals. His outstanding performance throughout 2020 saw him named in the Under22 Team and also received a Goal of the Year nomination.

Brodie Grundy
The ruckman had a quieter season than usual but still played every game for the Pies in 2020. He collected a total of 263 disposals and averaged 31 hit outs. The 26-year-old is a two-time Copeland Trophy winner.

Brayden Maynard
Another sensational season down back, the 24-year-old was again a fierce competitor in 2020. The defender was one of the Pies most consistent and reliable players this season collecting 340 disposals and 248 kicks (most kicks for the side).

Darcy Moore
The prominent rebounding defender played all but two games for the Pies this season collecting a total of 228 disposals, 120 spoils and 63 rebound 50’s. The 24-year-old consistently offered great speed and athleticism no matter what position he played on the field. He also received his first All-Australian selection this year.

Scott Pendlebury
The midfielder collected a total of 354 disposals and 179 handballs across his 16 games this season. He was also voted the first AFL Players’ Best Captain Award in 2020. He is a five-time Copeland Trophy winner and was runner up in 2019.  He also broke the club and captaincy record running out for his 314 game in September.  

Steele Sidebottom
The midfielder played a pivotal role in the Pies midfield early in the season but only ran out for a total of nine games. The tough on baller is a two-time Copeland winner.
