Adam Treloar says the Magpies’ will look to produce a consistent performance against Melbourne on Queen’s Birthday.

Treloar on Thursday told Fox Footy that after an “embarrassing” 69-point loss to Port Adelaide, Collingwood are ready to let their “footy do the talking”.

“It’s a consistency thing… The game that we’ve won this year, defensively we’ve been the best that we have been,” the midfielder said.

“It’s about having the effort and hard work there, which we didn’t have against Port Adelaide on the weekend.”

Treloar emphatically through his support behind captain Scott Pendlebury, in the wake of former Collingwood premiership player Mick McGuane saying Taylor Adams should take over from Pendlebury as captain.

“That is the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard,” Treloar said.

“In terms of someone knowing the game, he (Pendlebury) is the best person I’ve ever played with.”

Treloar was a Greater Western Sydney Giant a year ago when Collingwood and Melbourne first played in a Queen’s Birthday matched dubbed ‘The Big Freeze’.

The 23-year-old says it’s an honour to now be linked to the cause supporting Neale Daniher and the FreezeMND campaign.

“It’s an absolute privilege for me to be a part of it,” Treloar said.

“He (Daniher) is such an inspirational person.”

School teaching, train driving and being an Angry Dad

Before switching his focus to Monday’s game against the Demons, Treloar joined Mark Allen on Collingwood Media vodcast 'Sports Galore' to discuss all things sport.

Speaking on the topic of life after football, the star midfielder described a growing list of qualifications outside football.

“I’m a qualified PT… I’m doing a course to become a primary teacher so I’m going to start doing that. But my biggest interest, funnily enough, is media,” Treloar said.

“So radio or something or maybe you and I can do a show,” he proposed to his co-host and SEN radio presenter Allen.

But in keeping his basketball obsession alive, Treloar revealed a far more ambitious dream.

“But in all seriousness, I’ll be an NBA analysis (sic) with Shaq and Charles.

“In 15 years’ time, when this show is still going, I will be here and I’ll come down and I’ll explain all about the NBA.

“Mark my words mate, mark my words.”

An ex-Magpie gone viral

Footballers go into a range of unique careers after their playing days are over.

Luke Ball is now the AFL umpires boss, while 2002 ANZAC Day Medallist Mark McGough is a school teacher in Western Australia.

However there is a Magpie in the world who’s fame now far extends his seven-game Collingwood career.

“Please tell me you’ve seen Angry Dad,” Treloar says to Allen.

“You haven’t seen Angry Dad?!”

“Next week we are bringing in a YouTube clip. You know what, do yourself a favour, Google Angry Dad… It’s all over Victoria. You’ve got to YouTube it mate, it’s hilarious.”

Train-driving brothers in trouble

Perhaps the unique life-after-footy story of ex-AFL players comes in the weekly segment ‘You wouldn’t believe it’.

Treloar tells a remarkable story about brothers Simon and Patrick Wiggins, who played for Carlton and the Western Bulldogs respectively.

“They were AFL players, they’re both train drivers and they helped each other in an emergency situation,” Treloar said with a cheeky grin.

“And they’re brothers. Do you believe it or not?”

Well, do you?

Ex-Carlton player Simon Wiggins

‘He could play in the NFL’

When the topic turns to athletes crossing codes, Treloar has a story about former teammate and Rugby covert Israel Folau.

“I lived with him when I first came down (to Greater Western Sydney). I have to pinch myself saying that,” he said.

“I rock up to Sydney and there’s Israel Folau waiting with one of the coaches.

“And I go to the coach, his name is Alan McConnell, I said ‘Al, did you bring Izzy here so we can meet him? That is the nicest thing anyone has ever done’. He goes ‘No, he just got the same flight from Brisbane. It’s just ironic that you’re here’.”
