CTV > Players and fans pay tribute to Bucks

Collingwood will honour one of its greatest champions, former captain Nathan Buckley, with a lap of honour prior to Sunday's big round 12 clash with Carlton at the MCG.

With the game set to start at 2:10pm, Buckley will complete a lap of honour 20 minutes prior to the opening bounce. Buckley will be joined in the Lexus transporting him around the MCG by 12-year-old Jonathan Vaiano.

Nathan personally invited Jonathan to join him for the lap. The pair formed a friendship while Jonathan was a patient at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where Nathan would visit while Jonathan was undergoing radiation therapy treatment for a tumour growing around his spinal cord.

Following the lap of honour, the coin will be tossed by 14-year-old Challenge member Kahlia Wilson. Challenge provides children living with cancer and their families with opportunities to put their illness aside. Now in its 25th year, Challenge supports children living with cancer and their families from the time of diagnosis and beyond.

Collingwood urges all supporters to get to the game early to ensure they are able to pay tribute to Buckley as a crowd in excess of 80,000 is expected.
