Collingwood key defender Chris Tarrant is free to take on Brisbane after his report for rough conduct was thrown out by the Match Review Panel.
Tarrant was reported late in the second quarter of Friday night’s round 21 win over St Kilda for a bump on Justin Koschitzke.
It was the view of the MRP that contact was made to the shoulder area and after speaking to the umpire, reviewing all available footage and receiving a medical report from the St Kilda Football Club, it was determined that there was no forceful high contact made.
The MRP's view was that the bumping action was not unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action was taken.
Tarrant has played all but one game in season 2011 and in round 20 against Port Adelaide notched his 250th career game.
The 30-year-old, who played 161 games for the Magpies from 1998-2006 before spending four seasons with Fremantle, has confirmed his standing as one of the game’s premier key defenders in his first year back in black and white stripes.
He was an All Australian as a forward with Collingwood in 2003.
