Collingwood’s Dale Thomas was considered best on ground by both head coaches in Sunday’s Collingwood v West Coast contest at the MCG.
Both Mick Malthouse and John Worsfold awarded Thomas the maximum five votes each in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year voting.
The 23-year-old (30 disposals, five marks and two goals) has now received 24 votes from his last three games and now sits in a tie for ninth on the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leaderboard.

Vice captain Scott Pendlebury (31 disposals, seven marks and two goals) polled five votes including four from one head coach and one from the other.
Harry O’Brien’s (20 disposals and eight marks) work on Marc Lecras was applauded by one head coach with the defender receiving four votes.
Luke Ball (30 disposals, five marks and four tackles) and Leon Davis both received three votes while Ben Reid (2 votes - 17 disposals and seven marks) and Andrew Krakouer (one - 12 possessions and two goals) also featured.
Eagle Matthew Priddis (32 disposals) was the lone representative from the opposition earning two votes.
Past winners of the prestigious award include Dane Swan (2010), Gary Ablett Jnr (2007-09), Simon Goodwin and Adam Goodes (joint winners in 2006), Barry Hall (2005) and Warren Tredrea (2004).
