Anthony Rocca is free to take on Adelaide after accepting a reprimand for striking Sydney's Adam Goodes on Saturday night.

Rocca, who was reported on the night, accepted an early plea meaning his penalty was reduced to less than the one-game sanction he risked if he decided to challenge the match review panel's finding.

The match review panel assessed the incident as negligent, low impact and high contact, resulting in 80 base demerit points, which was increased by 20 per cent for previous offences and a further 25 carry over points, resulting in 121 base demerit points and a one-match sanction.

An early plea reduced the total by 25 per cent to 90.75 points, meaning Rocca, who is Collingwood's leading goalkicker in season 2007 with 42, is available to take on the Crows.

The match shapes as a huge one for both clubs, with the Magpies certain of finishing in at least sixth position with one round remaining, but still with a chance of edging into the top four, while Adelaide needs to win to make the final eight.

Rocca has had an eventful year with the match review panel and tribunal, having been cleared of a rough conduct charge he was reported for in round two against West Coast, before copping a two-match ban for rough conduct when shepherding Sydney's Sean Dempster in round 11.
