COLLINGWOOD skipper Scott Burns says he will be right to return to lead his side in Saturday night's do-or-die semi-final after overcoming a calf strain.

Burns sustained the injury in his side's round 21 win in Sydney and was held out of the side that beat the Crows last weekend.

However, the captain is adamant he will be playing against St Kilda at the MCG.

"It felt really good today," Burns told the Herald Sun after training at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday.

"I'm good. I felt good last week. I haven't felt it (the injury) for a week and a half. We just took it slowly.

"As soon as we made the decision (not to play) a couple of days out from Adelaide, we just pulled back a session or two and just made sure we did everything right."

The 264-game veteran will be a welcome inclusion into the young side that beat Adelaide.
