The Collingwood Football Club has implemented a new online training program to be used by the administration, coaching staff and playing group.

After several months of consultation with online training and compliance management centre Learning Seat, the club now has access to over 400 training programs and courses that will benefit Finance, Membership, Corporate Governance, Marketing and Gaming - all delivered online.

“AFL clubs are now a sophisticated business and we need to provide all staff with on-going professional development opportunities as well as keeping them up to date with the latest industry insights and regulations," Collingwood CEO Gary Pert said.

The Learning Seat package, which includes a fully tailored online induction program for new employees, players, club volunteers and board members, allows the club to consolidate its entire internal training and development programs, with one of the key factors of the new initiative the need to be able to collate a virtual library of information for the player group to access around Collingwood FC’s drug and responsible alcohol educational programs.

Learning Seat CEO Michael Solomon said that the Learning Seat standard compliance modules lent themself to adaptation for all organisations including sporting clubs.

“Compliance is a mandatory requirement for all organisations operating in Australia. This demands a need for an effective, robust platform to train and educate staff on these regulations.”

“With Learning Seat, any organisation can customise their own training program to suit their specific needs.”
