Assistant coach Ben Hart honoured in South Australia
Assistant coach Ben Hart has been inducted into the South Australian Football Hall of Fame.
Hart, who began as defensive coach at the Westpac Centre at the end of the 2011 season, was among 11 players honoured for their contributions to South Australian football.
Debuting in 1992, Hart went on to play 311 games for Adelaide until retiring at the end of 2006. He was a member of the 1997 and 1998 premierships and won two best and fairest awards at West Lakes.
Hart was also the first Crow to reach the 300 game milestone in round two, 2006.
A four-time All-Australian, Hart was known for his graceful style and ability to shut down opposition forwards both tall and small.
He became an assistant coach at Adelaide in 2008 after spending a year with Norwood in the SANFL before transferring to Collingwood to join Nathan Buckley’s coaching panel.
Others to be inducted were Andrew McLeod, Mark Ricciuto, Simon Goodwin, Gavin Wanganeen, Warren Tredrea, Garry McIntosh, Richard Williams, Ken Cunningham, Kevin Duggan QC and Don McSweeny.
