No Power talks: Eade
Rodney Eade says he is 100 per cent focused on Collingwood's season
EXPERIENCED senior coach Rodney Eade is yet to be interviewed by Port Adelaide and doesn't appear likely to meet with the club until after Collingwood's season is over.
Eade, who took on the role of the Magpies' football and coaching strategist this season, is believed to be heavily in the running for the vacant Power coaching job.
But he has not met with the panel chosen to appoint the next coach, and says his focus is solely with the Pies and their Friday night preliminary final against the Sydney Swans at ANZ Stadium.
"We've had a couple of big weeks now, hopefully now we've still got a couple of big weeks to go and my whole focus is totally with them," Eade said on Wednesday.
He spent nearly seven seasons with the Swans as coach between 1996 and 2002 before taking on the senior role at the Western Bulldogs between 2005 and 2011.
It was announced that his contract would not be renewed at Whitten Oval with three games remaining last season.
This year he has combined his Collingwood role with an increased presence in the media, particularly with Fox Footy.
Former Carlton coach Brett Ratten, who was sacked at the end of the Blues' season and last week replaced by ex-Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse, was reported to have met with the Power on Tuesday.
The panel to choose the coach includes CEO Keith Thomas, general manager of football Peter Rohde, AFL director of coaching Peter Schwab, AFL NSW/ACT general manager Tom Harley and club directors Bruce Abernethy and Kevin Osborn.
Four-time premiership coach David Parkin is also advising the panel.
