Shoulder surgery for Dick
Brad Dick is expected to be available midway through the 2010 season after undergoing shoulder surgery on Wednesday
The exciting 21-year-old experienced discomfort during the recent high-altitude camp in Flagstaff, Arizona, and underwent scans when he returned to Melbourne. He had an endoscopic reconstruction.
The surgery went well and depending on his rehabilitation progress the club is hopeful that Dick will be available in the vicinity of rounds 8-10 next year.
Originally recruited from East Fremantle with the 44th overall pick in the 2006 draft, Dick has played 22 matches at AFL level since debuting against Richmond in round three, 2007.
He missed the entire 2008 season while recovering from a knee reconstruction, an injury sustained during the 2008 pre-season competition, but returned to the Collingwood side in 2009, playing 16 senior games, and was one of three Magpies nominated for the AFL Rising Star award (along with Dayne Beams and Jaxson Barham), following a blistering five-goal haul against Melbourne in round 11.
