Beams to miss, Reid fit to play
Collingwood has received mixed news on the injury front ahead of its round two blockbuster against Carlton.
In line to return to the field after extended breaks are Alex Fasolo (hamstring), Alan Didak (hamstring), Paul Seedsman (hamstring), Clinton Young (calf) and Jackson Ramsay (groin).
While many of these players are likely to see action in the VFL, having played little or no pre-season football, it now appears that the depth of the Collingwood squad that was so tested last weekend will be deep again within weeks.

Further, the senior side will see the return of Heath Shaw (illness), who was a late withdrawal from the team which beat North Melbourne last Sunday. Ben Reid (cut mouth) and Ben Johnson (cork thigh), who were both injured against the Roos and unable to play out the match, are also available.
2012 Copeland Trophy winner, Dayne Beams (quad), who was also a late withdrawal last weekend, is expected to miss 1-2 matches more.
"With the likes of Dale Thomas and Andrew Krakouer making their way back in the VFL last week and Seedsman, Fasolo, Young and Didak all close, we've definitely got a few more selection options opening up for us," Collingwood Director of Football, Geoff Walsh, said.
"Some of those boys still need to find their legs, if you like, but it's encouraging to think that in a week or two we could have a lot of players pushing for a lot of positions in the side."
Seedsman and Young both played NAB Cup football but suffered soft tissue injuries late in the pre-season, where Fasolo and Didak did not feature in the competition.
