Magpie membership hits 30k

After overhauling our membership services last year the response has been overwhelming, with the club smashing through the 30,000 member mark earlier this week. This is more than double the same time last year, when the tally was 14,308.
This surge in membership comes after the club decided to freeze prices across all membership categories for 2010.
With membership soaring, the club is set to break through the 50,000 member tally in 2010 for the first time.
Collingwood posted a club record membership tally of 46,327 in 2009, smashing the previous mark of 42,498 set in 2008.
"Our surge in membership is a direct reflection on the incredible passion and commitment of Collingwood supporters," said Collingwood CEO Gary Pert.
"We are focused on winning a premiership in 2010, but it wouldn't be possible without the commitment of our members. The players and coaching staff can approach the season confident they have the members right behind them.
"We urge all our supporters who are yet to sign up to get on board and be 'Side by Side' with the playing group as we strive for premiership glory in 2010."
With Nathan Buckley back at the Lexus Centre, two gun recruits in Darren Jolly and Luke Ball joining the team that made it to a preliminary final, and a membership price freeze, the Magpie Army is on the march.
