Williams arrives at the Westpac Centre
Western Australian rookie Marley Williams fronted the CTV camera for the first time when he arrived in Melbourne on Thursday.
Drafted by Collingwood in Tuesday’s NAB AFL Rookie Draft, Marley Williams explained to CTV’s Jonathon Bernard that the club’s facilities at the Westpac Centre had blown him away.
“(Collingwood is) really rich and it’s a big place so it’s great to be here”, Williams said on Thursday.
“I just want to train hard and see how I go and just meet everyone at the moment”.
Williams, 18, impressed playing for Western Australia in the U18 National Championships during the winter but was overlooked in November’s National Draft.
He only moved to Claremont from Albany at the beginning of the year, but his hard work swiftly reaped rewards.
“It’s been pretty tough playing for Claremont.
“I started off in the Colts for a bit and then went to the state U18s, played a bit there and then found myself playing a couple of league games for Claremont.”
