COLLINGWOOD'S All Australian defender Leon Davis has accepted an early guilty plea for a rough conduct offence in Saturday’s Grand Final and will subsequently miss round one of the 2012 home-and-away season.

Davis was charged with a Level One engaging in rough conduct offence against Geelong’s Harry Taylor during the second quarter.

The incident was assessed as negligent conduct, low impact and high contact, drawing a total of 125 demerit points.

Although he has a five-year good record to reduce the base points to 93.75, because Davis' offence occurred during the Grand Final the original total was added to the new total to give him 218.75 points.

An early plea reduced the penalty by 25 per cent to a one-match sanction.

Davis will be eligible to play in the preseason competition.

The MRP also considered a first quarter incident where Collingwood's Sharrod Wellingham contacted Geelong's Matthew Stokes with his knees, but deemed the contact to be below that required to be a reportable offence.
