Magpies to swoop into Mansfied for camp
Collingwood will visit Mansfield, Yea and Alexandra during its 2010 Telstra AFL Community Camp.
The club will travel out to Mansfield, Yea and Alexandra in the first week of February for three days.
Now a tradition in the weeks leading into the NAB Cup, AFL clubs will visit communities throughout Australia to conduct training sessions, visit schools, nursing homes and hospitals and conduct NAB AFL Auskick clinics.
Last year the Magpies traveled down the coast to the Portsea and Sorrento areas to run several clinics through neighboring schools.
The upcoming trip will carry a certain level of significance for ruckman Josh Fraser, who hails from Mansfield.
“It will be great to visit my home town and work with some of the kids in the area,” Fraser said.
“It’s obviously a great experience for all parties involved but I think it will mean a little bit more for the kids from that area.
“I might also be able to sneak in a home cooked meal from the old man.”
