The veteran called an end to his career at the conclusion of the 2010 season after playing 246 AFL games. Shane O’Bree played six matches in the opening ten rounds but was unable to manage an AFL appearance in the second half of the year. Took on several coaching responsibilities in the VFL which aided his efforts in securing the midfield-coaching role at the Gold Coast Suns for season 2011. Played 227 games for the Magpies, the 18th most in club history at the time of his retirement.??
