The 23-year-old highlighted his desire to emulate Dane Swan's on-field work as a key driving force behind Pendlebury's determination.

Below is an excerpt of the speech.

“It’s pretty humbling to win an award like this.

"When you have guys like Bucks and Swanny, Lica to be put in that company it sits funny with me.

"To Bucks, really looking forward to working with you.  This year, I know have been working with you very closely to try and take my game to another level and I appreciate the time you have put in with me.

"To all my teammates, you guys are the reason why I get out of bed and want to perform well, to look you guys in the eye when I walk off to know that I have given it my all.

"I am really looking forward to next year and the next few years as well."
