Collingwood and Geelong will play each other in the AFL round seven Friday night marquee slot – in Perth.

The AFL confirmed on Thursday the Cats and Pies would head to Perth to play that match and subsequent games against West Coast and Fremantle, as part of the next phase of AFL fixturing to work around the extraordinary constraints related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per Western Australian regulations, players from those clubs will need to home-isolate for 14 days, but special dispensation has been granted for them to play the derby within that period.

The Cats-Pies match in round seven will be allowed to be attended by 30,000 spectators, as WA premier Mark McGowan has allowed 50 per cent capacity for WA stadiums on that day.
