Members help break the AFL record
Collingwood CEO Gary Pert has thanked the club's supporters for helping break the AFL membership record.
The Collingwood Football Club is thrilled to announce that we have broken the all-time AFL membership record, surpassing our 2012 total of 73,605 this week to reach 73,770.
On behalf of the Board, players, coaches and staff, I wanted to thank you for your support so far in 2013. Without your contribution as a member, we wouldn’t be able to pursue our goal of being the biggest and best sporting club in Australia.
Your membership allows us to build the best training facilities and have the best football department in the league that together will drive us in our quest for our next Premiership.
Whilst we recognise the significance of this milestone, we will not rest on our laurels but will continue to look for ways to improve our performance both on and off the field, which will in turn see the Magpie Army grow even stronger.
There are plenty of MCG blockbuster games still to go this year – including Geelong, Sydney, Essendon and Hawthorn - and we look forward to the ongoing support of our members and supporters standing Side by Side with us.
Our players also wanted to thank you for your support - please enjoy this message from them.
Go Pies!
Gary Pert
