Voting for the Magpie Army Player of the Year Award is now underway for 2014.

Collingwoodfc.com.au looks at the performances of some of the players who are warrant your votes following the 70-point loss to Fremantle in round one.

Collingwood’s top performers
17. Dayne Beams
Statistics: 16 kicks, 15 handballs, 31 disposals, 3 marks, 7 clearances, 9 tackles
Was one of the team’s few four-quarter performers, leading the Magpies for disposals, inside 50s (equal) tackles (equal) and clearances (equal).

41. Tom Langdon
Statistics: 20 kicks, 4 handballs, 24 disposals, 6 marks, 11 rebound 50s, 5 tackles
Displayed a sense of calm beyond his years in a fine debut. His 11 rebound 50s ranks up there alongside the best efforts of the likes of James Clement and Heath Shaw. Was the ninth most efficient Magpie with ball in hand and ranked second for average metres gained per disposal (23.1 metres).

14. Clinton Young
Statistics: 13 kicks, 4 handballs, 17 disposals, 6 marks, 5 inside 50s
Broke through for only his second round one match since 2009. Took the ball inside 50 five times, bagged his first goal for the club and ranked first for average metres gained per disposal (28.9 metres).

10. Scott Pendlebury
Statistics: 16 kicks, 10 handballs, 26 disposals, 3 marks, 5 clearances, tackles
Shouldered a heavy load against Fremantle’s master tagger Ryan Crowley and was admirable throughout, winning 26 touches and laying nine tackles. Began his tenure as skipper by kicking the first goal of 2014.

Head to fansmvp.collingwoodfc.com.au and register your account. Then, assign three votes to the player you deem to be the best Collingwood player for the game, two votes to the second best player and one vote to the third best.

About the Magpie Army Player of the Year Award
The Magpie Army Player of the Year Award is received by the player deemed the most influential of the season by the Collingwood supporters each year.

In 2014, a $200 gift voucher to be used at the Collingwood Superstore at the Westpac Centre will be awarded to one voter after every six matches.

The grand winner, selected at random, will receive two tickets to the 2014 Copeland Trophy Dinner and present the Magpie Army Player of the Year Award to the winning player on stage.
