Reclink stars recognised
Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley was on hand to present the Reclink competition's Peter Cullen Medal to the league's fairest and best players at the Westpac Centre.
The Reclink competition targets the most vulnerable and isolated people in our community, including people experiencing significant mental health challenges, disability, homelessness, substance abuse, culturally and linguistic diverse communities, correctional services and economic hardship.
More than 200 players and coaches attended the lunch, which was hosted by the Collingwood Football Club.
During the presentation, Buckley congratulated Collingwood’s own Reclink team, the Collingwood Knights who were runners up in this year’s competition. The Knights, who train and play at Victoria Park, narrowly lost the Grand Final with the last kick of the match.
Reclink Australia is a non profit organisation, with its mission being to provide and promote sport and art programs for people experiencing disadvantage.
Established in Victoria in 1990, Reclink Australia operates nationally providing over 4500 activities and 80,000 participation opportunities for disadvantaged Australians annually.
