The Collingwood Football Club has announced that internationally awarded airline, Emirates, has extended its partnership with the club for a further five years, until 2019.

The Dubai-based airline has been with the Magpies since 1999 and the new agreement will see the Premier Partnership between Collingwood and Emirates extend to 20 years.

Collingwood President, Eddie McGuire, said the club looked forward to the continuation of its long and strong relationship with Emirates.

“The globally renowned Emirates logo has adorned the Black and White strip for the past 15 years and we are pleased that our partnership will continue to go from strength to strength,” Mr McGuire said.

“To be involved with a world leading brand in Emirates is to partner with excellence and the success of our relationship derives from that common goal to achieve excellence in everything we do”.

Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Boutros Boutros, said that as an unknown name in Australia in 1999 Emirates set out to become part of the local community and 14 years on, through prominent partnerships like that with Collingwood, Emirates has become a household name.

“Collingwood was Emirates’ first major sport sponsorship in Australia, bringing together two brands synonymous with quality, leadership and dedication.

“Emirates is proud to be Premier Partner of the Collingwood Football Club, Australia’s biggest sporting club. The airline wishes the team all the best for upcoming season,” Mr Boutros said.

Collingwood’s portfolio of Premier Partners includes CGU, Westpac and Star Athletic, as well as Platinum Partner Holden. A further 20 partners make-up the portfolio of sponsors associated with the club.
