September
1 September – Collingwood hosts a post-season information night for its members at the MCG, while Kyle Martin polls a club-high nine votes in the VFL’s J.J. Liston Trophy.
2 September – Star onballers Scott Pendlebury and Dayne Beams are named in the 40-man All-Australian squad.
3 September – Collingwood announces a record membership of 80,793 for season 2014, while Tom Langdon polls five votes in the AFL Rising Star Award.
4 September – Marty Clarke retires, while rookies Caolan Mooney and Peter Yagmoor are delisted
8 September – Jamie Elliott’s screamer against Geelong nominated as one of the AFL’s top three Marks of the Year.
9 September – Tom Langdon, Jarrod Witts and Jamie Elliott named in the AFLPA’s 22under22 team of 2014. Ben Kennedy, Tim Broomhead and Jonathon Marsh sign new contracts.
11 September – Tyson Goldsack ignores his status as an unrestricted free agent to sign a new three-year contract
16 September – Scott Pendlebury is named in the All-Australian team for the fifth time in as many years.
22 September – Scott Pendlebury and Dayne Beams poll 16 Brownlow votes each. Steve Grace is promoted to the role of assistant coach for season 2015. Grace will oversee the team’s forward line. Matthew Lappin leaves the club and later joins Gold Coast.
23 September – Dane Swan has a new tattoo added to his vast array of body work. This time, it’s Sam Newman’s face.
24 September – Dayne Beams requests that he be traded back to his home state, Queensland.
27 September – Ben Kennedy represents Collingwood in the 2014 AFL Grand Final Sprint.
October
2 October – Collingwood, in partnership with the Salvation Army Project 614 Team, and with the backing of the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government, announces a three-year sponsorship agreement to support a cafe servicing homelessness and disadvantaged people in Melbourne.
3 October – Scott Pendlebury wins his third E.W. Copeland Trophy in his first year as captain. Other award winners on the night are Tom Langdon (Best First Year Player), Travis Cloke (Leading Goal Kicker), Quinten Lynch (Best Clubman), Kyle Martin (VFL best and fairest), Colin Arnell (Services to the Club) and Pendlebury again (Leading Desire Indicators and Magpie Army Player of the Year). Earlier in the day, Collingwood officially nominates Darcy Moore as a potential father-son selection
4 October – Rookie Kyle Martin announces his retirement from the AFL after six senior games in two years at the Westpac Centre.
6 October – Collingwood officially acquires the services of Darcy Moore during the AFL’s father-son bidding meeting.
7 October – North Melbourne’s Levi Greenwood announces his intention to join Collingwood during the October trade period. Earlier, Darcy Moore fronts the media for the first time as a Collingwood footballer.
9 October – Coach Nathan Buckley meets with Geelong’s Travis Varcoe while holidaying in Bali as the two-time premiership Cat seeks to find a new home.
13 October – Brisbane youngster Jack Crisp enters the frame as a potential circuit-breaker in the stalled negotiations to get Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams to the Lions.
15 October – Collingwood completes a five-way trade that sees Levi Greenwood (North Melbourne), Travis Varcoe (Geelong) and Jack Crisp (Brisbane) plus a top five draft selection arrive at the Westpac Centre in exchange for Dayne Beams (Brisbane) and Heritier Lumumba (Melbourne).
22 October
The AFL announces Collingwood will open the 2015 season against Brisbane and its star recruit Dayne Beams at the Gabba on 2 April. New Magpies Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe and Jack Crisp arrive at the Westpac Centre and face the media for the first time.
28 October – The 2015 NAB Challenge fixture is released, with Collingwood scheduled to meet Hawthorn in Tasmania on 26 February.
29 October – Collingwood President Eddie McGuire celebrates his 50th birthday.
30 October –The fixture for the 2015 home and away season is released. Collingwood will play 14 games at the MCG, 10 of which will be against Carlton, Essendon, Geelong, Melbourne and Richmond. Director of Football Rodney Eade accepts an offer to coach the Gold Coast Suns in season 2015.
31 October –Tony Armstrong is delisted, but the Magpies declare they will re-draft the hard running defender in the December Rookie Draft.
November
5 November – Nathan Freeman steals the show as the first-to-fifth year players return for the pre-season, winning the two-kilometre time trial.
7 November – It is announced Josh Thomas will not partake in any ball work until the players return from Christmas after sustaining an injury during a post-season holiday.
10 November –The first-to-fourth year players head to Falls Creek for a pre-season training camp. Collingwood appoints Neil Balme as its new Director of Football. Balme oversaw three premierships in eight years in the same role at Geelong.
17 November – The senior players return for their first day of the pre-season, with Steele Sidebottom again taking out the two-kilometre time trial.
18 November –It is announced that Collingwood will travel to Bendigo for its annual Community Camp next February.
24 November – Collingwood announces a net profit of $2,017,992 for the financial year ending October 31, 2014.
26 November – Blackmores commits to a further three years as one of Collingwood’s major partners.
27 November – Four youngsters – Jordan De Goey (Oakleigh U18), Darcy Moore (Oakleigh U18), Brayden Maynard (Sandringham U18) and Matthew Goodyear (Calder U18) – become Magpies at the 2014 National Draft on the Gold Coast.
December
1 December – Collingwood’s four new draftees arrive at the club for their first day.
3 December – Collingwood finalises its list for the 2015 season, adding Michael Manteit (Sandringham U18) and Brenden Abbott (Claremont) to its rookie list alongside the redrafted Tony Armstrong and US rookie Mason Cox.
8 December – Collingwood’s new draftees join coach Nathan Buckley in facing the media for the first time. Steele Sidebottom takes out the two-kilometre time trial, beating Nathan Freeman and Tony Armstrong to the line.
11 December – A selection of Collingwood players take on the grade five and six students of Christian College Highton and St Marys Primary Schools in the annual Westpac Cup at Olympic Park.
12 December – Collingwood holds an open training session in front of a large crowd at Olympic Park.
16 December –Ben Reid sustains a calf injury that will sideline him until the new year.
18 December – The VFL announces its fixture for season 2015.
19 December – Collingwood trains for the final time before the players take their Christmas break.
