Taylor Adams has no doubt the Pies will be in great shape for their huge round two clash with Richmond at the MCG on June 11.
The players stepped things up by resuming full contact training at the Holden Centre on Monday and they’re already counting down the days until they take on the reigning premier.
“It’s going to come around really quickly,” Adams told collingwoodfc.com.au. “There’s not a lot of time to waste.
“The boys understand that, they know that every day we come to the club there’s a job to do and we’re a step closer to playing.”

Adams was in the thick of the action during the first session of match simulation on Monday and he loved every minute of it.
“It was really good. It was fun out there,” the star midfielder said.
“We played basically three quarters of a game and the intensity was right up, so it was tiring.
“It was great to be back. Awesome feel out there. All the boys were up and about.
“Everyone seems to have come back in relatively good nick, which is no surprise. We’ve had eight weeks to prepare.
“[The lockdown period] wasn’t a down time for us, it was an opportunity to keep working on things we wanted to improve, so … the enthusiasm and energy out there today was really good.”
