Sydney Swans chairman Andrew Pridham has issued an apology to Eddie McGuire for questioning comments made by the Collingwood President regarding salary cap breaches committed by the Parramatta Eels.
On Wednesday, McGuire and rugby league media personality Mark Geyer spoke on Triple M about the sanctions facing the NRL club, which is based in the Greater Western Sydney region.
An audio grab regarding of the conversation was provided to Pridham, which resulted in the Swans chairman asking the AFL to issue McGuire with a “please explain” for his comments.
On Friday Pridham retracted his comments and apologised to McGuire, saying he incorrectly believed the Collingwood’s President’s assessments were about the GWS Giants.
