The Collingwood players have officially begun their annual off-season break.
With the VFL team’s season ending in last Saturday’s Preliminary Final, the club’s attention now officially turns to 2017.
All player have undergone their individual post-season review with the coaching and medical staff and are now officially on leave.
“On the Tuesday and Wednesday following our last AFL and VFL games, all players participated in an individual end of season review with the coaching staff, as well as their standard medical screening,” Football Operations Manager Marcus Wagner told Collingwood Media.
“The club only has access to the players for these two days before they are released on their annual leave period.
“The players will be back for the Copeland Trophy on Friday 7 October,” he explained.
“After that, the first to fourth year players will return in the first week of November, and the players with five or more years of experience are due back two weeks later.
Collingwood’s attention now turns to list management, with the AFL’s free agency period beginning on Friday 9 October, followed by the opening of the trade period on Monday 10 October.
All 18 clubs will convene for the National Draft on Friday 25 November, with the Pre-Season and Rookie Drafts to be held on Monday 28 November.
