Tall utility Corey Gault has been rewarded for a fine pre-season with an elevation onto Collingwood’s senior list ahead of round one.
The Magpies bumped Gault, 22, onto their senior list as a result of Brent Macaffer’s shift onto the long-term injury list.
Recruit Levi Greenwood has also been moved onto the long-term injury list, although no replacement has been nominated at this stage.
Gault, who is in his fourth year at the Westpac Centre, was one of 16 players to feature in all three of Collingwood’s NAB Challenge fixtures during the pre-season.
Playing predominantly up forward, he kicked three goals and won 10 hitouts while providing Brodie Grundy with relief in the ruck.

The West Australian broke through for his first senior game in the final home and away game of the 2014 season, slotting two goals against eventual premiers Hawthorn.
His debut came 1009 days after he was originally drafted to the club with the 65th overall selection in the 2011 National Draft.
Gault has since put together 38 VFL games amid a string of groin issues early in his career.
His elevation back into the senior ranks is proof of his resilience, having been removed from the senior list and added to the club’s rookie list at the end of 2013.
