Recap the first half of Collingwood's clash with Richmond in the third round of the JLT Community Series at Moe's Ted Summerton Reserve.
First Quarter
0.00 – Jeremy Howe starting in Jack Riewoldt in defence.
2.32 – A brilliant chain of handpasses, starting at half back with Steele Sidebottom, sees Brodie Grundy shoot for goal on the run from outside the 50m arc. The ball is on track, only for a Richmond defender to get hands to it on the goal line. Collingwood leads 1-0.
3.22 – Precision passing around the 50m arc, primarily involving Jarryd Blair, sees Alex Fasolo mark deep inside 50m. He makes no mistake. Collingwood leads 7-0.
4.40 – Bursting through the middle in trademark fashion, Adam Treloar charges within range and sends a supergoal over the goal umpire’s hat. Collingwood leads 16-0.
7.03 – Dan Butler spots up Mabior Chol who slots the Tigers’ first from 40m out. Collingwood leads 16-6.
9.45 – Luck’s a fortune! Tom Phillips wobbles a kick deep into attack where it lands on Mason Cox’s chest. He goals. Collingwood leads 23-6.
11.50 – Moore! Hearts in mouths everywhere as Darcy flies into trouble, marking in the face of several Richmond defenders. He pulls up sore, but recovers in time to kick his first. Collingwood leads 29-6.
18.48 – Second time lucky. Chris Mayne marks as the ball bobbles on his chest, after Mason Cox and Jackson Ramsay took their time to work the ball around the 50m arc. Mayne goals. Collingwood leads 35-7.
19.40 – Josh Smith with courage, diving on the contested ball to redeem an earlier fumble. Gutsy.
20.34 – A ruck infringement sees a free kick paid to Brodie Grundy. A lovely shot from 45m out never looks like missing. Collingwood leads 41-7.
26.30 – A rare blotch on our first quarter copybook. Richmond’s Shane Edwards intercepts and jogs into an open goal. Collingwood leads 46-14.
28.40 – To cap off a wonderful start, Treloar wins a free kick and goals after the siren. Collingwood leads 52-14.

Second Quarter
5.25 – Treloar intercepts 45m from home, and could have turned around to have a shot at goal. Unselfishly, he looks to pass off, but his kick is then turned over! Collingwood leads 52-15.
8.34 – The Tigers take it from one end to the other. It’s Dion Prestia who marks all alone in the goal square. They have their third. Collingwood leads 52-27.
12.37 – Collingwood’s looking slick when moving the ball by hand through the midfield. Treloar, Phillips, Hoskin-Elliott and Phillips again combine to get the ball to Fasolo who drills his second. Collingwood leads 58-27.
13.41 – Edwards gets one back for Richmond with a set shot, 45m from home. Collingwood leads 58-27.
18.28 – A comedy of errors in defence leads to a goal to new Tiger Josh Caddy. Collingwood leads 60-33.
19.54 – Jeremy Howe intercepts Chol, but his ambitious kick into the centre misses Travis Varcoe. A group of Tigers swamps our backline, threading the ball forward into the hands of Dion Prestia. He goals. Collingwood leads 60-39.
27.45 – The foreign legion combines to perfection, as former Docker Chris Mayne spots ex-Swan Jesse White on the goal line. Collingwood leads 68-41.
