Tickets for the opening three rounds of the 2012 NAB Cup are now available for purchase.

Collingwood opens its campaign in a round robin fixture against Greater Western Sydney and the Western Bulldogs at Blacktown International Sportspark in Western Sydney on February 18.

All tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster, with kids under the age of 15 entitled to free general admission tickets throughout the first three rounds of the NAB Cup if they buy online.

The first round marks Greater Western Sydney’s first official foray into the AFL as a competing club, having played two round robin NAB Cup matches last year.

There will be three matches comprising two 20-minute halves played on the night. Greater Western Sydney and the Western Bulldogs will play in the first match before Collingwood take on the Bulldogs and then the Giants in the next two games.

Collingwood will then have the next week off before meeting Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Saturday March 3 at 7.40pm.

The Magpies will meet Adelaide at AAMI Stadium the following Friday (March 9) at 8.10pm in their third round fixture.

The length of each match returns to normal in the second and third rounds.

The NAB Cup will be decided on wins and percentage, much like the regular home and away series. The Grand Final will be contested by the top two teams over the first three rounds of the competition, with the remaining 16 teams to play at metropolitan venues around the nation.

Collingwood is shooting for back-to-back NAB Cup victories after claiming their second ever pre-season title in 2011. The Magpies defeated Essendon in the Grand Final last year, and Heath Shaw was named the Michael Tuck Medalist as best afield.
