The seesawing nature of Collingwood’s five-point loss to Richmond at the MCG has failed to be replicated in this week’s AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award.

Five Tigers were among the players selected by Nathan Buckley and Damien Hardwick to receive votes, with Dane Swan Collingwood’s only vote getter.

Swan polled seven of a maximum ten votes (five for each coach) for his 32-disposal, two-goal game.

His ability to clear the ball from the contest no doubt impressed the coaches. The 31-year-old had a season-high 11 clearances, seven more than the next highest individual total.

Sunday’s clash with the Tigers resulted in the first game this season Scott Pendlebury hasn’t featured in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year weekly voting.

The skipper’s 19-disposal performance has led to him dropping from third in the leaderboard to an equal fourth place.

Pendlebury’s Richmond counterpart Trent Cotchin tallied nine votes for his 32-disposal performance with Brett Deledio, Shaun Grigg, Ivan Maric and Jack Riewoldt rounded out the votes.

Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe remains the runaway leader of the prestigious award on 58 votes. The midfielder is 22 votes ahead of Sydney’s Dan Hannebery in second place.
