Sometimes, things just fall into place.

Just ask Scott Pendlebury, who celebrated his 200th game in fine style on Saturday night.

Try these numbers on for size:

He won 35 disposals.

He kicked three goals.

He took the ball inside 50 eight times.

He took seven marks.

He recorded five goal assists.

And, he also received the maximum ten votes from Nathan Buckley and Rodney Eade in the AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player of the Year Award.

It’s little wonder – Pendlebury won more than 35 disposals just nine times in his first 199 games, while the match marked only his fifth haul of three goals or more in a single game.

The remaining vote winners were all dressed in Black and White.

Travis Varcoe was rewarded for his best performance as a Magpie to date (29 disposals, four inside 50s and two goals) with six votes and Jamie Elliott’s five goals saw him collect four votes.

Steele Sidebottom, back after six weeks off from a fractured thumb, took home three votes, as did Marley Williams.

Tyson Goldsack was awarded two votes, while Jack Crisp and Dane Swan earned one apiece.
