Ben Moloney starred in Collingwood's two-point win against Box Hill in the VFL on the weekend, collecting 35 disposals, eight clearances and nine tackles.
As a result, development coach Anthony Rocca named Moloney as his Subway Player of the Week on this week’s episode of CollingwoodTV’s From Lulie Street.
Averaging 21 disposals and eight tackles per game in the VFL, Collingwood VFL President Marcus Wagner was quick to recognise the potential positive outcomes that could result from Moloney’s strong run of form.
“With Moloney, surely he’s going to be getting some attention from AFL scouts now," Wagner said.
"Every week (he’s) turning up, having a crack and being in our best players most weeks.”
Moloney led the VFL Magpies for tackles in 2014, his total of 112 leading the club by 23.
The nod from Rocca caps off an excellent week for Moloney, who will play his 50th VFL game in round 13 against Footscray.
It’s a sign of how well the VFL Magpies are performing that yet another VFL-listed player has been awarded the Subway Player of the Week.
Moloney will look to continue his excellent form this Saturday afternoon at Victoria Park. Collingwood will take on the fourth placed Sandringham. Entry is free for Collingwood members.
