Collingwood's staff and players know the importance of avoiding brain injuries sustained when playing football, but we also know that an Aquired Brain Injury (ABI) can affect anyone across all walks of life.
This is why Collingwood and BrainLink have formed an important partnership aimed at improving the support services available for the family and friends caring for loved ones with an ABI.
It is said that when someone gets a brain injury their family, friends and carers also experience a brain injury. Family members receive limited financial support for the dedication to their loved one, and are often required to provide around the clock care.
This is where BrainLink steps in and can help.
Dedicated to ensuring people live well with an ABI, BrainLink’s first priority is to respond to the immediate needs of the families and friends of those who are living with an acquired brain disorder.
Some of these conditions include stroke, head injuries, brain tumour and progressive neurological diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Motor Neurone disease and Huntington’s disease.

- Innovative and flexible respite opportunities;
- Specialised case management for individuals with severe brain disorders;
